I feel incredibly proud to be Canadian, and I cherish my life in Elliot Lake, Ontario. The beauty of the trails that start right in our town and lead to such breathtaking destinations is a constant source of inspiration for me. I love that I can step outside my building, walk up a gentle incline, and immediately find myself on a bush trail which leads to many more. Whether I choose a short walk or a longer hike, there's always something special waiting for me.
Recently, my journey took me up a Rio Algom road into one of the old Uranium mine properties in Elliot Lake. Regardless of the season, I find joy in walking through the area, as there’s so much natural beauty to appreciate and capture in my photographs. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Rio Algom for granting us access to some parts of their property. Your generosity has made a significant impact, and we truly appreciate the opportunity!
The craggy old rock faces, like the one in this photo, create such captivating textures that I love to incorporate into my work. On this particular day, I spotted a vibrant, red maple leaf that had fallen, its stem caught on a rough spot of rock, and it really struck me as a beautiful reminder of our Canadian Flag.
Moments like this make me feel grateful for my connection to this land and reaffirm my pride in being Canadian.
